News and Notes from the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room. The Carolina Room houses a special collection within the public library system of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Our focus is local history and genealogy. We also serve as an archive for materials from this area's past. This blog takes its name - "The Square" - from the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets - the historic heart of Charlotte.
